Arthur the World's Strongest Boy

Sorry about the lateness for what is technically last week’s page of Arthur, but it doesn’t matter we’re back now! We finally visit the Valley of the Worms, it took 11 weeks and 10 pages to do so but we’re finally here!  The bazar in my mind was primarily inspired by the streets of aladdin in the sega genesis game.  Awesome game by the way. Once again, we should thank James Kaminski and Andy Hood for their hard work on this page, personally, I think this is some of the best work we’ve done so far!

On another note, here’s a quick sneak peek at next week’s pencils.  The caterpillars and worms are after Arthur, even here in our world, not just in the Valley of the Worms.

The worm speaks using old english pronouns?   I had to research, heavily, into the use of old english pronouns.  Like when to use “ye” or “you.”  I think I learned more about grammar for this comic than I ever did in English class. Probably it has something to do with application. Anyways, tune in next week to see Arthur again.  I know we haven’t seen him in a few weeks but he’ll be back, I swear!

This week’s page got done super late this week, it just so happened that all three of us were also featured in this month’s COPOUT Artists.   Who’s your favorite Arthur character so far?  I think mine might be Ricky.

The trio’s names have finally  been revealed.  I think that so far that must’ve been the hardest part about writing Arthur.  All three needed names that reflected their personalities, I think I nailed it pretty well. This is my favorite page that we’ve done so far.  We’re definitely getting used to this group process and at visualizing the finish.  When we first started this we had no idea how the first page was going to turn out.  Now that we’re used to it we can accommodate for each other to make better quality pieces.

Here we introduce three new characters.  Funny story about these guys, as of this post, they still don’t have names.  In the script I just refer to them as Cat, Pigeon, and Cube, or the trio.  I have a strong feeling that after this week, I’m going to have give in and finally name them something.
